(Yesterday)

According to K's boyfriend's LiveJournal, neither of them are going to Perversion tonight, so I guess C isn't going. I haven't actually spoken to him yet, but I guess he knows. He'll be majorly bummed, especially after all the effort and stress he's put in to finding an outfit, plucking up the courage to go etc. It can't be helped, though - K's boyfriend is sick and she needs to stay with him.

This evening I was going to go out with my colleagues, but I'm not sure now. I already had a pint at lunchtime, plus if C's feeling down I would want to cheer him up. I expect he will be down, because I know how frustrated he's getting about not meeting anyone. OK, so he's met K, but she's been "off" with him for a while (she says it's PMS), and now he can't go to Perversion with her. Not that either is really her fault.

Meanwhile... not heard anything from Bill & Ben. But they're going to be wrapped up in housebuying/moving stuff, so no surprise. Mart is seeing his boyfriend this weekend (who apparently lives in Herts), so maybe we'll meet up next week. The Colleague Whom I Shagged is hosting his 4th "Arts Night" in Dalston on Saturday, so I'm probably going to go to that, if C's up for it.

I have a headache. After only one pint! But I think it's mostly been brought on by CRAP XML MARKUP that I'm trying to translate as elegantly as possible using nice re-usable XSLT, but the structure of it is SO CRAP that I'm having to resort to nasty CRAP hacks and techniques that more resemble procedural programming than declarative. When I started here I was hoping to be able to work on a set of brilliantly re-usable rule-based templates, but instead I find myself having to resort to "fill in the blanks" stylesheets because the data is so badly structured.

Can I go back to editing hardcore pornography now?

Meh. This company's development methods and architecture need a serious overhaul, but I am not the one to do it. Off to the pub...

Only just got up. C & I went for Thai last night, then came home and had a minorly-stressful talk and a fabulous shag. Thanks dog it's the weekend. More later.
