Yesterday was a good candidate for the Worst Work Day Of My Life. I don't want to go into it, but I assure you it was fucking awful. I am so glad I'm leaving, but at the same time I'm praying that my new job isn't as stressful - if I feel I can't handle this much pressure when I'm on 24k, how the hell am I going to feel if I have to take it on 14?

But I'm trying not to think about that.

When I finally left work last night - at 8.45pm - the world had frozen solid. So I literally skated down to Kilburn Park tube on 2" of sheet ice (no roads had been gritted); got as far as South Kensington on the tube; found there were no buses home, so skated another 1/2 mile on more sheet ice, caught a different bus, and got home at about 10pm.

When I got back to my place, C was already there, and had run me a hot candlelit bath, and had a glass of wine waiting. So my shittiest work day ever became a lot better. He's the best ;-)

And then... I had a letter waiting for me from my soon-to-be employers, detailing some of the perks. OK, so I'll be paid shit, and have no pension or healthcare - but if I stay with them for two years, I'll be entitled to go on the company's annual week-long, all expenses paid, ski trip.

A week's skiing. Free. With porn stars.

Man, who needs healthcare or a pension when you've got that?

OK, so I hate skiing, but there's no reason I have to ski... Plenty of apr�s-ski action for me! Of course, this is assuming I stay with them for two years, but with that sort of incentive...
