Weekend & war

Believe it or not, I didn't get round to watching my gay porn at the weekend. Friday night, I met C at Marble Arch after work, and we went to Wagamama's for noodles. Well, I had rice. In fact, we both did. And miso soup. And then we both had dessert - coconut panacotta for me and peach ice-cream for him.

On Saturday evening we watched Magnolia on BBC2 and ate crisps. We forgot that the clocks went forward on Sunday morning, and that we had to get up early-ish (for us) on Sunday to go visit my parents for Mother's Day. So we were both exhausted last night, and went to bed early.

Hopefully, we'll get to watch the gay porn tonight.

We had a reply to our ad on AFF from another couple, married, similar age to us (they're 25 & 31, we're 26 & 30). They look pretty attractive. only downside is they're not quite what we're looking for - he's orally bi-curious and she's bi. They're looking for a girl or a couple with a bi-girl. Even though, they wrote to us and didn't mention anything about female bi-ness - instead, the girl said she'd like to see her husband with another guy, or maybe partner-swap.

I'm a bit insecure about the idea of playing with another couple, especially one with a bi girl. I know I wouldn't be expected to do anything I didn't want to (or at least, I hope not), but even so... C is quite interested in partner-swapping, though. I haven't really made up my mind about that. I've only really been thinking in terms of what we'd do with a bi boy.

Well, anyhow, I wrote back from both of us, and mentioned all the things we get up to (inc. the strap-on thing, which I suspect might put the other guy off). We'll see if they want to maybe meet up for a drink and see if we all get along.

Colour me nervous... ;-)

Lunch yesterday at my mum & dad's place was OK. My mum had made her usual "Feeding the 5000" feast - homemade watercress soup; cold salmon fillet with salad & new potatoes; almond sponge cake with amaretto & clotted cream; fresh fruit salad; cheese... I only made it to three courses. C & I took a bottle of champagne as well. After lunch we got dragged round a couple of garden centres, which was OK since the weather was really nice. Then we had tea (scones & the fruit salad left over from lunch). By the time we got home, we were drunk & stuffed to the gills.

My parents and sister have mellowed out incredibly. The only iffy moment was when my mum made a small, extremely typical right-wing statement about the War. But none of us picked her up on it, so there was no debate/argument. She's old, let her have her bigotry, I guess.

OK, so, the War. There is one thing in particular that's making me incredibly angry: what the US are proposing is going to happen to Iraq "when" they get Saddam Hussein out. They don't want the UN to be involved in rebuilding Iraq after the war. The US intends for all regeneration contracts to be given to US companies. They intend to install CDMA mobile networks, when every country surrounding Iraq uses GSM.

In short: forget freedom for the Iraqi people; the US wants to turn Iraq into an American protectorate.

Sure, some people might think of American rule as 'freedom', but it's just replacing one dictator with another un-elected, probably military, government, isn't it? And why do the US want to do this? So that they have a major influence in the running of a foreign, oil-producing state.

The US are going in there saying they want freedom for the Iraqi people. From what I've seen so far, that's not true at all.

Of course, it seems that right now you can't have antiwar sentiments without people assuming you're a Saddam-lover. I'm not, I want him & his regime out. I just don't want it replaced with a regime imposed by another country.

Miss anything?
